This Entry is About Architecture of a Smaller Scale. One that endorses Wellness, Retreat and Harnesses the Energy of the Outdoors. Rooted in the inevitable call for “responsible downsizing” and reflecting on the paradox between wasteful and resourceful, this project offers a new look at the needs for sizable contemporary living. Inspired by familiar archetype found in many coastal cities, the lifeguard station serves as an observation post during the summer and as source of revenue and hospitality during the winter season. In many instances it produces a justifiable attempt in developing rotational use of Ephemeral Architecture.
